Yeah I would have gone home for sure with this one, but it was fun to try and work with some techniques I have never even thought of trying....
The final project I did for So You Think You're Crafty.
My children love the story of The Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle, heck they love anything by Eric Carle and I LOVE the pictures.
Pottery Barn Kids is offering this lovely licensed print selection:
It is simple enough and she loves the jewels on the wings. Best part it might not look like Eric Carle, but it does resemble his style and cost a lot less than the $109 picture at Pottery Barn.
Thanks for looking!

My daughters room has a beautiful butterfly theme. Now I am not an artist by any stretch of the imagination. I wanted to try and draw the butterfly, but instead I decided to do a mixed media piece for my daughters room.

Super cute and perfect for a little girl's room! Thanks for sharing.
I love your butterfly! The different textures work well. How did you do the pink? Is it paint or fabric?
It is all fabric and yarn with a few jewels thrown in. I love fabric collages, and have a friend who does awesom work. I wanted to try one myself, and let me tell you the time and talent they take is something I am envious of. I just don't have it (aka it looks better on film then in person).
